FDNY Ladder Company 114 is located in a new firehouse located at 5113 Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn, NY and has been quartered there since the house opened on January 12, 2009. They share quarters here with Engine Company 201 and the Chiefs of the 40th Battalion. The company dates back to September 15, 1897, when they were first organized as Hook & Ladder 18, of the paid Brooklyn Fire Department, at 5209 Fifth Avenue, in a firehouse that they occupied until moving to the new quarters. That department was merged into the FDNY in January of 1898, with the number of the company first changed to be Hook & Ladder 14 and later Hook & Ladder 64. They became Hook & Ladder 114 (now known as Ladder 114) on January 1, 1913. In 2008, Ladder 114 responded to 2,359 alarms, of which 1,859 were workers. Since inception, there have been 15 individual medals of valor awarded to members of this company, as well as 16 unit citations for different meritorious acts. As mentioned above, for many years, during the Christmas season, Ladder 114 has performed a community service by "rescuing" Santa from theroof of a neighborhood four story apartment building.

The apparatus is a 2006 Seagrave/Aerialscope 75 foot Towerladder with FDNY registration number ST06009 and it is one of twelve similar 2006 Seagraves, all with the Commander II cab. It has been in service with Ladder 114 since April 25, 2007.
